STAMPS: U.S. POST MODERNISM
The postage stamps above, designed and printed by First Issue Reserved Edition (FIRE), an anonymous group of artists, were on display in March at Effect's, a New York City gallery. Although the stamps are intended as works of art, several collectors have successfully used them to mail letters. In addition to the Amy Fisher, Kill/Hate, and Mike Tyson shown above, FIRE has made stamps featuring guns, burning flags etc... (back to article listings)
